The average insurance premium of used cars in the state of Missouri is $ 1,638. Two of the largest cities of the state – St. Louis and Springfield— have the average insurance premium of $1,798 and $ 1,216 per annum, respectively. We will analyze insurance average and median price of eight used car models for these two cities.
Please note that the used car models belong to the year range of 2005 to 2012.
In Springfield, the Chevrolet Silverado has the highest median price ($ 32,540). The lowest median price is recorded for the Ford F-Series ($ 11,496) in Springfield.
Data is available for three models of Honda—the Accord, the Civic and the CR-V. Among these models, the CR-V has the highest insurance average of $ 1889 in St. Louis, followed by the Accord ($ 1,713) in the same city. Of these three models, the Honda Civic has the highest median price ($ 19,423), followed by the Honda Accord ($ 16,997) – both in the city of Springfield.
The lowest insurance average out of the eight models is that of Honda Civic ($ 1,081) but has the second highest insurance average ($ 19,423). Both the data are from the city of Springfield since there is no data (insurance average and median price) available for these three car models in the city of St. Louis.
The highest insurance average overall is that of the Toyota Camry ($ 1,901) in the city of St. Louis, which is higher than the city’s average insurance rate. The same model in Springfield has an insurance average of $ 1,285 with a median price of $ 17,757.
Another model offered by Toyota –the Corolla has an insurance average of $ 1,604 in St. Louis but the same model has an insurance average of $ 1,085 in Springfield city.
The Nissan Altima, whose main rivals are Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic, has an insurance average of $ 1,816 in St. Louis, which is higher than its rivals. In Springfield, the Altima’s insurance average is $ 1,228, which is a difference of $ 588.
