In a recent analysis of car insurance prices in Baker County, Florida, Raltin calculated the difference in insurance holders’ savings between the 75th and 25th percentile premiums. The results indicate that families with young drivers have the highest savings of $5,125 (112.99%) when they choose the 25th percentile premium instead of the 75th percentile one. Raltin analyzed drivers in Calvert in terms of population cohorts. For families with young drivers, who usually paid the most expensive premiums, the policy priced at $3,507 is offered by Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange. The median premium for this cohort comes from AIG Property & Casualty Company, at $7,786. The second-most expensive premiums are paid by 23-year-old single female drivers. Prices start at $1,172, offered by GEICO Casualty Company.

A good indicator of how much a customer can save on car insurance is the difference between the median and cheapest insurance policies. Raltin compared these two policies for different types of drivers in Auburn, grouped by their driving background and the cars they drive. The report suggests that drivers can save between $335 and $1,259 on their car insurance premiums.  Data for this analysis has been obtained from the Alabama Department of Insurance. The largest difference between two car insurance policies is $1,259, and it is for 18-year-old single women driving 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cabs. The lowest difference is for 62-year-old married men driving Ford F-25 super duty cabs.

While buying auto insurance, customers are usually asked to choose their coverage limits, deductible values, and medical payment limits. For this survey, the following coverage limit and deductible values were used as reference points: bodily injury per person, bodily injury per accident, and property damage of $25,000, $50,000, and $25,000 respectively. The collision deductible was $500, and the medical payment limit was $1,000.

In an analysis of car insurance policies in Mesa, AZ, conducted by Raltin, it was  found that the difference between the cheapest and median priced policies was between $461 and $2036. The greatest difference between the cheapest and median car insurance prices was for the cohort of 18-year-old unmarried males with a clean 3-year record. The cheapest car insurance policy for that cohort was offered by Employers Insurance Guaranty at $977, while the median policy came from American Hallmark Insurance Company of Texas at $3013.

In a recent study conducted by Raltin, it was found that the biggest difference between the 75th and 25th percentile of insurance premiums is at 63.85%, for families with young drivers and no traffic violations in the last 3 years.This is followed by 25-year-old unmarried women with one minor violation and one not-at-fault accident in the prior 3 years. The difference for this cohort stands at 45.80%.

Raltin’s analysis of the 2016 NAIC Annual Report reveals that car insurance premiums vary up to $4,888 from the median prices in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The most significant deviations from the median are observed for 52-year-old married men with a driving experience of 35 years. According to their annual reports, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, Kentucky Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company, Allstate Insurance Company and Progressive Corporation are the four companies with the highest market share in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Among these, Progressive offers the lowest premiums for the abovementioned cohort at $4,888 less than the median. A recent Raltin analysis on car insurance premiums in Lexington, Kentucky, shows that 52-year-old married men with a driving experience of 35 years can enjoy the the largest savings ($3,833), since the 75th and 25th percentiles of premium rates is the greatest for this cohort, followed by 45-year-old divorced men with a driving experience of 29 years (savings of $3,151). This survey was conducted using information from the latest Auto and Home
Insurance Guide report issued by the Kentucky Department of Insurance.

The most expensive premiums starting at $2,082 are paid by the cohort of 52-year-old married men and are offered by Unitrin Direct Property & Casualty Company. The most expensive premium for this category of drivers is $18,484 offered by Allstate Indemnity Company.

The median car insurance rate in the city of Columbus, Georgia, is $1577—about $1500 lower than the state average for 40-year-old married males with a clean driving record. This is a finding from a recent analysis by Raltin using data from the Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, Georgia, on 2012 Toyota Camry, 6-cylinder, 4-door sedans. The study also found that the median rate for 30-year-old married females with one speeding ticket in the past 12 months was $2259, about $700 less than the state average. For 28-year-old married males with one speeding ticket within the past 30 months, the insurance amount was $2896, only slightly less than the state average of $2982.
