According to a recent Raltin analysis on car insurance premiums in Charleston, West Virginia, consumers can save between $330 and $1,080 depending on the company they choose. The greatest difference between the cheapest and median car insurance prices is $1,080 and is reported for 18-year-old single male applicants who drive 10,000 miles annually. The cheapest car insurance policy for this cohort is $835, which is offered by United Services Automobile Association, while the median policy rate is $884 and offered by the Victoria Fire and Casualty Company.  For the analysis, Raltin uses data published by the 2014 West Virginia Annual Automobile Survey.

For 18-year-old single female drivers, the cheapest premium is offered by Erie Insurance Property and Casualty Company at $698. For this cohort, the difference between this price and the median rate is a significant $865. For 48-year-old married drivers, this difference is $375. The cheapest premium rate for this cohort is $246 and offered by United Services Automobile Association.

For 18-year-old single male drivers, the most expensive premium is offered by Liberty Insurance Corporation at $5,942. Consumers can save up to $4,027 by choosing a median-priced premium of $1,915, which is noteworthy.

United Services Automobile Association offers the cheapest premiums for 4 out of 10 driver cohorts analyzed in Charleston, West Virginia. Liberty Insurance Corporation reports the most expensive premiums for 9 out of 10 driver cohorts. Depending on driver background and history, the former company offers prices ranging from$246 to $1,080. As for the latter, this range is $1,532-4027.
