Single male drivers with one driving ticket and one accident living in Crescent City, Del Norte County can save as much as $1,872 on their car insurance premiums (66.20%). This finding comes from a Raltin analysis of car insurance data  released by the California Department of Insurance. The study estimates potential savings for various driver segments by calculating the difference between the 75th and 25th percentile of insurance premiums. The analysis showed that insurance prices vary significantly based on one’s background and driving record.

The driver cohort that can make the second highest savings is single female drivers with a similar driving record; they can save as much as $1,649 (58.31%).

Car insurance agreements generally include certain discounts for multi-car insurance, multi-policy credits etc. For this study, Raltin focused on multi-car discounts ranging from 0% to 27% and multi-policy credits ranging from 0% to 15.7%.

The vehicles chosen as reference points for this research are Honda Accord for unmarried drivers (with a yearly mileage of 12,600–15,000) and Toyota Prius and Toyota Camry for married drivers (with a yearly mileage of 9,000–16,000.).

Single male drivers with one driving ticket and one accident are charged the most by Viking, at $9,909. Their lowest is for single male drivers with a history of no traffic violations, at $5,332.

The median premium for the cohort of single men with one accident and one ticket comes from Kemper insurance group, at $3,623. For single men with a clean driving record, the median premium is $1,763, and it is offered by Traveler’s Commercial.

One insurance holder in the city reported to Raltin, “I am satisfied with my insurance policy because it offers all the coverage I need at a good price.” In a state with a competitive market for car insurance, it is difficult to come across satisfied customers. To sign a good insurance deal, potential buyers should carefully analyze the rates offered by the major providers and assess the most profitable deal for themselves.
